British court charges actor Kevin Spacey with sexual assault of three men

Investigators in Britain have charged American actor Kevin Spacey with four sexual assaults against three men, the British Public Prosecution announced Thursday.

"The Public Prosecution Office has authorized the launch of criminal prosecutions against Kevin Spacey, 62, on the basis of four counts of sexual assault against three men," said Rosemary Ainsley, head of the special crimes unit at the British Public Prosecution Office.

And it indicated in the statement that the two Oscar-winning actor "was also accused of causing a person to engage in sexual activity with penetration without his consent."

Spacey's film career was dealt a severe blow in 2017, after accusations of sexual assault in the United States.

The wave of accusations against him coincided with the emergence of the "Me Too" movement, following the exposure of the sexual scandals of Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein.

Spacey's last appearance in the cinema dates back to 2018, with the movie "Billionaire Boys Club".

In July 2019, the US state of Massachusetts dropped charges against Spacey for indecent assault and sexual assault.
