At a press conference, Republican Greg Abbott explained that about half an hour before the shooting, Salvador Ramos wrote a Facebook post that he would shoot his grandmother.

A few minutes later, he published another message in which he said that he had shot his grandmother - who was seriously injured - and in a third message, which he posted a quarter of an hour before the massacre at the school, he indicated that he was preparing to attack a school.

Following the words of Republican Greg Abbott, Meta, the company that owns Facebook, clarified that these are not public messages, but private messages, sent to another user.

"The messages described by Governor Greg Abbott were private, between him and another user, and were discovered after the terrible tragedy occurred. We are cooperating closely with law enforcement in their investigation," Meta spokesperson Andy said on Twitter.

On the other hand, Governor Abbott explained that in addition to the 21 dead, there are 17 injured in this incident, three of whom are police officers, although there is no fear for their lives.

He pointed out that the reason why Ramos entered the school and opened fire on students and teachers is still unknown.
