Johnny Depp wins his case against Amber Heard and gets $15 million in compensation

Actor Johnny Depp has won a defamation lawsuit against his ex-wife, Amber Heard.

 A jury in Virginia ruled that Amber Heard's article accusing Johnny Depp of domestic violence in 2018 was defamatory, and accordingly Johnny Depp received $15 million, including $5 million in punitive damages.

Heard received $2 million in damages from the court.

 Over the course of 6 weeks, that trial sparked widespread controversy on social media, through which Depp sought to restore his reputation, while Heard accused him of mistreatment, beating, and abusing her during their marriage from 2015 to 2017.
